Design Brief

A design brief is a clear statement of the design task and its requirements

(Pg 37 from D&T textbook)

The design brief tells the reader what you will be doing.

The design brief at this stage does not have to include the final product but should identify the end user/ market including any special requirements environmental issues etc...

Step 1:

Alway start the design brief with " To design and make........."

Step 2:

Give general description of the product you want to make. The description should not be exact.

It should give you flexibility about the product you want to make.

E.g.  Model, artefact, container, structure

Step 3:

Include the location where the product will be found, or located at.
